ALS Capital Limited is the wholly owned investment banking subsidiary of Highveld Investment Limited (HIL) registered and regulated by Bank of Zambia as a non bank financial institution in terms of the Banking and Financial Services Act.  Formed in 1987 as Anglo Leasing Services Limited by Anglo American Corporation (Central Africa) limited (AACCA), Boart Longyear Zambia Limited (Boart) and Dunlop Zambia Limited (Dunlop) as a captive leasing company to the Anglo Group in Zambia, the company now offers a broader range of financial services. 

With Highveld Investments Limited (HIL), a Zambian investment and investment management company having initially purchased 46.3% of the company’s issued share capital in March 1998, HIL subsequently acquired in April 2000, the balance of the shares it did not already own from AACCA.  This followed Anglo's decision to exit non core activities globally.  HIL’s assumption of control permitted a change of name to reflects its broader product offering.

AMBI is a member of African Merchant Bank Holdings Limited of South Africa, a fully fledged merchant and investment banking group with an international association with Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation (CSFB), a subsidiary of the Credit Suisse Group.

Invoice Discounting 

For larger, profitable and longer established businesses, ALS Capital offers invoice discounting which works as follows:  

a)    Company issues irrevocable order to supplier.

b)    Company invoiced acknowledges assignment of invoice and undertakes to pay invoice amount when due to AlS Capital.

c)    ALS Capital advances up to 80% of invoice issued to company.

d)    ALS Capital receives payment from your company’s customer.

e)    ALS Capital remits the  balance less Finance charges. 

Full Service Factoring 

You receive the same prepayment facility as with Order/Invoice Discounting.  In addition we manage the sales ledger associated with your  company supplies, safeguarding your cash flow through effective but sensitive supervision and collection. 

This should enable a company concentrate on new business opportunities, safe in the knowledge that immediate cash, together with the necessary controls, are on hand to fund growth. 

1. Your company raises an invoice/order and submits a copy to ALS Capital with remittance instructions to pay ALS Capital

2. ALS Capital advances up to 90% of invoice/order value

3. ALS Capital sends statements and receives payment

4. ALS Capital pays you the balance less any outstanding charges
