The Kalkrand Village Council is a
local authority in the Hardap region of
Namibia. It was established in 1993 as a local
government institute, to run the functions of the
town or village. The council have
councillors. The councillors are elected every
five years by the community in a democratic
way, through free and fair elections. The
councillors duties are the decision making, there
are seven members, all from different political
parties. The office compromises of a Village
Secretary, Assistant Accountant and a Clerk.
The functions of the office
comprise of:

Selling Water &
Electricity.

Recieve payments on Municipal
accounts.

Help customers with queries.

Compling returns for
assessment.

Compling accounts and sending
through the mail.

There are labourers manning
our cleansing services doing refusel.

Drain Pumpings
-
All cleansinf required in
town.
The head office is the Village
Secretary who is like a C.O.E. of a company.
Due to the five yearly election no member of council
will stay on permanently. Overall the Village
Council provides services such as Water and
Electricity. We are a services provider for
the community of Kalkrand
