harbourLuderitz is situated approximately 340kms from Keetmanshoop and 650kms south-west of Windhoek, Namibia’s capital. The town can easily be reached via a well maintained tarred road or by daily flights.

The town has a very rich history. This is evident from the number of visitors who flock to the town annually. The town’s rich history and location is considered the backbone of a booming tourism sector. A very import piece of history is that the first Standard bank in Namibia was established in Luderitz in 1915. harbour2

Tourism is considered on the of most important resources actively exploited and continuously developed in Luderitz. One of the main attractions to Ludertiz is our Ghost Town, Kolmanskop, which carries the rich history of where the first diamond in Ludertiz, Namibia was ever found.


logo Shark Island is another exciting camping site which houses the historic monument of infamous Captain Fredericks, as well as the well-known Lighthouse. There are a number of adventure activities that take place in Ludertiz; like daily boat trips to nearby islands and Dune trips in the Namib Desert.

namibA well developed fishing industry exploits the resource under strict control of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources. Currently this industry in Luderitz comprises various large and medium sized companies, harvesting or catching and processing mainly fish, various species rock lobster, deep water red crab, oysters and abalone.

Luderitz is continually and actively exploring selective smart partnerships which will explore and develop the rich heritage resources of the area.
